I'm a PhD student, from October 1st, 2014, at Université Jean Monnet of Saint-Étienne under the supervision of Leonor Becerra-Bonache and François Jacquenet.
I'm currently working on Machine Learning, and more concretely Grammatical Inference (GI). GI deals with learning of grammars and languages from a set of data. The main algorithms designed in this field mainly rely on the underlying syntactic structure of the language to be learnt. Nevertheless, it is well known from the (Computational) Linguistics community that syntactic information is not sufficient to deal with natural languages and many other aspects must be taken into account: semantics, discourse, pragmatics, ... My task is to develop and investigate new state-of-the-art GI approaches that simultaneously exploit syntactic and contextual information during the learning process. I'm considering both theoretical and practical aspects of this problem.
The title of my Thesis is: " Contextual information for Learning Models of Languages ".
