RESEARCH ACTIVITY :
3 monographs, 158 articles, 150 papers in proceedings, an invention, a textbook.
The central research direction is concerned with homogenization of partial derivatives equations and mathematical modelling of heterogeneous media. From mathematical point of view it is an asymptotic study of PDEs with rapidly oscillating coefficients or boundaries; from mechanical point of view this asymptotic analysis is applied to the mathematical modelling of composite materials, lattice structures, industrial installations, frames, heterogeneous plates and rods, porous media, flows in thin tubular structures, in particular, blood circulation. The main result during some last years is the invention and justification of the method of partial asymptotic decomposition of the domain (MAPDD) and its applications to the multi-scale modelling in biology and medicine, in particular, the construction of the complete asymptotic expansion of the solution and MAPDD for the steady and non-steady Navier-Stokes equations in thin tube structures.
